More to see in your 1200 acre backyard! You may have noticed new works of art popping up around the community. We like to call it art alfresco. Each piece is by a different local artist. And if you’re enjoying these installations, you’re in for a treat. Because over the next 12 months, we’re releasing eight more, all by local artists. We can’t wait to unveil these new additions. Until then, here’s the 411 on works currently in your 1200-acre backyard. Take the fam out for an art scavenger hunt and use this as your guide!
Gone Fishin’
Update on Eastport
Earlier this summer, we gave a big Longcovian welcome to our newest neighborhood, Eastport.
Life at Long Cove. Why it’s a Great Time to Visit.
If it’s been a while since you’ve visited Long Cove, there’s never been a better time to come back out and experience the community. Long Cove has grown so much over the years and we’d love for you to see what’s new. From concept to creation, Long Cove was once a big idea to create a luxury lakefront community close to Dallas. That big idea has come to fruition and grown into so much more — and it only gets better every season!
Meet the Interns
This month, we’re shining a spotlight on three of Long Cove’s newest additions. Lauren Giles, Peyton Gorr, and Alexa Fezuk started working with us as interns at the start of summer — and we’re thrilled to have them on the team. We caught up with the terrific trio to talk about their internship experience, aspirations for the future, and more. Be sure to say hello next time you see them around the lake! Read More
Exclusive Release: Cape Homes
Congrats, Neighbor!
In 2019, Long Cove homeowner Karen Northcutt inspired us all with tales of her 11-day trek to Everest Base Camp. A longtime hiker, she completed the 80-mile trek to raise funds for Clean Water Climbs, which repairs water wells in Malawi. Suffice to say, even the craziness of the past year couldn’t keep this Longcovian from crushing goals. Except this time, she’s flexing her skills on the golf course.
Bayside Pool & New Releases
Given Mother Nature’s recent visit, sunny days by the pool may seem far away. But we promise they’ll be here before you know it.
Summer is on the horizon and Long Cove is continuing to grow. Last month, we announced our newest addition: a new lakeside infinity pool at Henderson Bay. Construction on the new pool is underway and we know it will be an amenity everyone will enjoy.
A Letter from Don McNamara
No one will dispute that 2020 brought many challenges, but a lot of great things still happened around Long Cove. I want to tell you how much we appreciate your resilience and patience while we managed new health and safety procedures. Although some events had to be shelved, we wrapped up summer with the opening of Henderson Bay Amphitheater and a blowout performance from Pat Green on Labor Way Weekend.
Reflections on 2020
This year has been a rollercoaster. Full of challenges, and sadly for many, loss. Social distancing, quarantines, virtual work, and school… A year ago, who could have imagined how different daily life would now look?
Fall on Deck
Ahh, fall porch weather! While summers on Cedar Creek Lake are hard to beat, this time of year is truly something special. Fall is a calm, beautiful time to be at Long Cove. And what’s not to love about sweater weather, pumpkin-spice everything, and 1,200 acres of room to roam?
Spotlight on John Boyd
Architect and interior designer John Boyd of John Boyd & Associates has been at Long Cove since the early days working with the development team. John specializes in designing luxury second homes and has an innate sense of what features in a home make it right for families, fun, and entertaining. John is at the top of Long Cove’s A-list architects and his repertoire is surprisingly broad, from Low Country Cottages to Modern Farmhouses to Contemporary. He’s also the man behind several landmark Long Cove buildings, such as the Henderson Bay Townhomes, Toy Barn, and Lake Club. We caught up with John to chat about his legacy at Long Cove, second-home trends, and lake house designs.
